About Godot Engine

Godot ships as a single executable of a few tens of megabytes and runs on hardware far below what Unity or Unreal need. Godot 4 requires a Vulkan-capable GPU for its Forward+ renderer, with a compatibility renderer available for older hardware.

Can my laptop run Godot Engine?

The same check applies — enter the parts your laptop actually contains. Be aware that a laptop graphics chip is usually slower than the desktop card it shares a name with, because the manufacturer sets a lower power limit. A laptop advertising the Vulkan 1.0 capable GPU f named here may therefore fall somewhat short of it in practice, and sustained performance drops further as the machine heats up. Treat a borderline laptop result as optimistic rather than assured.
